What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are the most durable and natural-looking solution available for our County Dental at Suffern patients who are missing one or more teeth. Implants are permanent and allow for natural cleaning, chewing, and speech. The implant process generally takes from three to six months.
Placing Dental Implants
During the first of three visits the patient’s mouth and jaw will be examined visually and via CT scan to determine whether the patient is a good candidate for implants. During the second visit, the patient will be made comfortable with local anesthesia and his or her gums and jaw will be prepared to receive the implants. The dentist will then insert the titanium tooth roots into the patient’s jaw and close the incisions with stitches.
The patient will be fitted with custom-crafted, natural-looking porcelain replacement teeth on the third visit. At the completion of this final visit, the patient will have beautiful and durable replacement teeth.
